Cunningham's Gap is found in South East Queensland, along the Great Dividing Range. The mountains provided an imposing barrier to early European settlers, separating coastal settlements from rich grazing pastures further inland. Today Cunningham's Gap is the gateway to the country tourist region of the Darling Downs and the fruti and wine areas known as the Granite Belt. Driving from Warwick towards Brisbane in the late afternoon sun, I was captured by the old wooden fence, the rolling hills of winter grass and the hues of the distant mountains. To me this scene captured the beauty of liviing in the country.
